Screenings FAQ

Screenings are invited any time before December 31, 2024.

To host a screening, please fill out our form below. We will then issue you a “license” to screen the film at a specific location and time.

The screening license fee will vary depending on your expected audience and the nature of your organization.

A screening license for Where Olive Trees Weep includes:

  • Access to the 102-minute film during the agreed screening period
  • A DCP file (for theater screenings)
  • Permission to advertise your screening, charge for admission, or accept donations
  • Promotional material, including a poster and stills for the film
  • A post-screening discussion packet
  • A Call For Action list
  • Support from our team

You can host an in-person screening in theaters, community centers, places of worship, libraries, academic institutions, or any venue that can accommodate your audience.

We will provide promotional materials. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to reserve the location and promote the event.

You can also organize a virtual screening and invite your community to participate online at a specific time. You can make this event more powerful by adding time for conversations, Q&A, and dialogues. Ashira, the main fim character, and/or the directors are available to be part of these virtual events for an extra fee.

The cost to host a screening depends on the format you choose and the size of your audience, starting as low as $1 per person attending.

  • For virtual screenings or in-person community screenings (using a computer and projector/screen setup), you have two choices:

    • You can sell tickets through the third-party platform we’ve partnered with. The ticket revenue will be split 45/45/10 meaning you will keep 45% of the ticket price, we keep 45% and the platform keeps 10%. There is no upfront cost. This is a popular choice for fundraising events.
    • Or you can handle ticket sales independently (or offer the event for free). You will need to pay an upfront licensing fee which starts at USD 50 for up to 50 guests for non-profit and faith-based organizations.
  • For cinema screenings with DCP files: We will provide a virtual DCP file for download. The upfront licensing fee starts at USD 200, depending on the number of attendees.

Once the setting is complete, you will receive a private link that will activate at the agreed time to allow you to screen the film.

If your screening is held in a movie theatre and you need a DCP, please mention it in the form and request it well in advance of the screening.

SAND’s portion of the proceeds will go to projects supporting the population of the occupied territories, rebuilding Gaza, working towards human rights and bringing trauma healing work to the region.

We suggest you use your share to support the Palestinian people as well.
