Screenings FAQ

Screenings will be allowed between June 6th to June 27th 2024.

To host a screening, first you fill out our form below and, based on your responses, we will issue you a “license” to screen the film at a specific location and time.

The screening license fee will vary depending on your expected audience and the scope of your organization.

A screening license for Where Olive Trees Weep includes:

  • Access to the 102-minute film during the agreed screening period
  • A DCP file (for theater screenings)
  • Permission to advertise your screening, charge for admission, or accept donations
  • Promotional material, including a poster and stills for the film
  • A post-screening discussion packet
  • A Call For Action list
  • Support from our team

You can host a screening either virtually, or in person: in theaters, community centers, places of worship, libraries, academic institutions, or any venue that can accommodate your audience.

We will provide you with promotional materials. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to reserve the location and promote the event.

You can also organize a virtual screening and invite your community to participate online at a specific time. You can make this event more powerful by adding time for conversations, Q&A, and dialogues. Ashira, the main character, and/or the directors are available to be part of these virtual events for a small extra fee.

Once your physical or virtual screening has been approved, you can either pay a “flat rate” fee based on the expected size of your audience or decide to sell tickets to the screening. In both cases you will be directed to an external site in which your guests will be able to register.

If you decide to sell tickets, as a rule of thumb, the ticket revenue will be split 45/45/10 meaning you will keep 45% of the ticket price, we keep 45% and the platform keeps 10%.

If you decide to use the screening as a fundraiser by purchasing in advance a flat rate license based on your estimated attendance, you will be keeping the whole revenue.

If you reach your estimated attendance limit you will be charged an agreed small fee per extra person.

Note: we highly recommend you will use these revenues to support the Palestinian cause.

Once all is said and done you will receive a private link that will activate at the agreed time allowing you to screen the film. If your screening will be held in a movie theatre and you will need a DCP, we will also be able to provide you with one.

SAND’s portion of the proceeds will go to projects supporting the population of the occupied territories, rebuilding Gaza, working towards human rights and bringing trauma healing work to the region.
